Guilford is a picturesque town situated on the banks of the River Wey and is surrounded by rolling hills and lush green countryside and is known for its historic architecture, beautiful gardens, and scenic landscapes.
One of the most notable landmarks in Guilford is its castle, which dates back to the 11th century. The castle is situated on a hilltop overlooking the town, and provides stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
Other highlights of Guilford include the Cathedral sitting on top of Stag Hill and the Yvonne Arnaud theatre, both fine examples of modern architecture.
The river Wey that flows through the town provides both natural beauty and preserved remnants of the town's industrial past, including the National Trust property at Dapdune Wharf.
Overall, Guilford is a beautiful town with a rich history and stunning natural scenery, and provides me with a wealth of inspirations for my watercolours and poster art.
