My graphic design background is part of everything I do, and has a huge impact on what I like and the art I create.

One of my strongest influences has always been the illustrations of Hergé, as epitomised in his Adventures of Tintin story books. As a kid I loved the stories for their adventure, and as an adult I also came to love them for the clean simplicity of the lines and colours.

As a petrol head, I especially like his depictions of vehicles, and it is these that have inspired my series of graphic illustrations of classic sports cars, rendered in a crisp and bold style reminiscent of those Tintin stories, with the addition of a frame, caption and ‘sound’ for the full graphic novel effect!

Our print is based on a custom built racing-spec 1990 Porsche 964 with a 4 litre flat 6 engine and I have imagined it running a full chat through a tunnel, and have added a caption line taken from 'Life in the fast lane' by The Eagles - what could be more appropriate?.
